Copper Prices Fluctuated with Downstream Resistance to High Levels, Market Activity Remained Low [SMM North China Spot Copper]

In North China today, spot prices of #1 copper cathode against the front-month contract were at a discount of 140-100 yuan/mt, averaging a discount of 120 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. The transaction price ranged from 79,560 to 79,680 yuan/mt, with an average of 79,620 yuan/mt, down 145 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

Spot prices of #1 copper cathode against the front-month contract in North China today ranged from a discount of 140 yuan/mt to 100 yuan/mt, with the average discount at 120 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices fluctuated between 79,560-79,680 yuan/mt, averaging 79,620 yuan/mt, down 145 yuan/mt from the previous session. Copper prices fluctuated at highs, with downstream buyers still showing fear of high prices. Divergence persisted between upstream and downstream players, resulting in subdued market activity. The procurement sentiment for copper cathode in North China today stood at 1.61, down 0.02 from the previous trading day, while the sales sentiment was 2.21, also down 0.02 ().
